This is an attractive site situated ½ mile west of picturesque Grafham village and a similar distance north of Grafham Water, both of which are accessible by public footpath. The 6-acre area is remarkably peaceful, effectively surrounded by arable land and a narrow tree belt. This has the hallmarks of a quality site and is a place where you can relax and unwind. Though level, the site is divided into a variety of areas of mature planting. The site boasts 76 pitches which are predominantly grass. At its centre is a 350-year old cottage, once owned by the Oliver Cromwell family. Part of the moat that surrounded the estate still exists. It now provides a home for local wildlife, especially our family of ducks. The site has a heated outdoor swimming pool, open from mid-May to mid-September, as well as a children’s play area. Grafham Water, only a short walk away, is an international centre for trout fishing, windsurfing and major sailing events. Other activities available nearby include cycling, horse riding, tennis, golf and karting.

We stayed here last weekend (10 & 11 July 09) and it is highly recommended. The wardens were cheerful and very helpful. Shower blocks are modern and spotless. There are some gorgeous walks / cycle rides from the site, particularly Grafham Water itself, which is within walking distance of the site. The shop is small but very well stocked and newspapers may be ordered. Great children’s play area. Large pond & fountain(fenced off) but viewable, home to all sorts of resident water birds. Fish & chip van at 6.30pm on Fridays. Swimming pool looked great (we didnt use it but it is open to all and looked well supervised and very clean). Lots of resident duck & moorhen families all asking to be fed. Highlight for us was Ollie the (female) American Eagle Owl who has been resident here for several years having escaped locally apparently – she was perched in the tree above our van, hooting away at about 11pm – we got a great view – a real treat! Highly recommended site.
